The project examines how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can adopt AI purposefully and responsibly while driving environmental and social sustainability.

The project addresses the gap between high-level global AI principles and the practical realities faced by resource-constrained SMEs. Through UK  US comparative research, it develops a scalable governance framework and a responsible AI Adoption Toolkit tailored to real-world innovation practices in sectors such as clean tech, agritech and fintech. By translating ethical AI principles into actionable guidance, the project empowers Start-ups and SMEs to innovate ethically, navigate emerging regulation, and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
