The INSICOL project pioneers in silico legal comparison, using Large Language Models and AI-based simulations to analyse how the US, UK and EU address competition risks arising from AI and digital ecosystems.
It maps institutional and regulatory differences, models business behaviour under varying legal frameworks, and identifies which regulatory designs are most effective or counterproductive. The research also uncovers the philosophical and societal values shaping each jurisdiction’s enforcement approach. By bridging legal scholarship and computational methods, INSICOL develops a transformative methodology for comparative law, offering tools to evaluate regulatory design, stakeholder behaviour, and institutional impacts across legal systems.
