SUMMARY:‘Responsible AI Futures’ Hybrid Seminar – Dr Bahareh Heravi
DESCRIPTION:Responsible AI in Newsrooms\n\nAs AI becomes embedded in newsrooms\, it offers powerful tools that enhance reporting\, streamline workflows\, and engage audiences in innovative ways. However\, this integration raises critical questions about ethics\, responsibility\, and trust. This talk will explore how AI is used in newsrooms\, showcasing real-world use cases and discussing its potential\, concerns\, and challenges. Given the importance and scale of AI development\, its use in the media sector\, the potential harms it may cause at a global scale and the reputational damage it can make to media organisations\, fostering AI literacy and responsible use of AI has become a pressing challenge.
